In 2005 we saw how there were conference for women and also conferences for teens, but there were no conferences for both mothers and daughters so Debbie Ruiz and Lori Moore decided it was time to start one. They both wanted to improve their relationships with their daughters and thought that there just might be other women out there who feel the same way and the Mother Daughter Conference was born!
In 2006 the first conference was held and a total of 3 moms with their 4 daughters showed up. Others might find this to be a failure since turn out was so low but we found that those moms and their daughters got something out of it. Everyone enjoyed the conference and it received rave reviews!
We have continued to go forward with the conference and the Lord has blessed it and grown it in a big way!
Part of what makes the conference so successful is that the speakers are great, the topics are relevant and we have the popular "How Guys Think" segment. A teen guy and a mentor get together and talk honestly about guys and how they work. The teen girls really like the anonymous questions to the guys. They get the real answers to real situations without worry.
